How did “It’s Only A Name” get it’s title?

When I first started writing, I thought I had a great idea to make the last line of the book be the title. It didn’t always work, but “It’s Only A Name” started out that way. It was originally “The Friend I Tell My Secrets To”, but it didn’t fit once I finished writing. So then it became “The Door” because Thane had this wild theory about your life being lived in different rooms and you had to go through different doors. Deleted the whole story line, so that didn’t work anymore.

I created and discarded a few more titles until it became time to apply for my copyrights and had to have a settled title which I was happy with. I stood in my office and threw up my hands exclaiming, “It’s Only A Name”. Hey. That works with the story.
