Publishing Soon… My Latest Book and Why I Wrote It.

.

Why did I write Meant to Be?  As I’ve said I wrote the novels to entertain my mom after her stroke. One of her side effects, whether it be from the stroke or from the meds, was she was what the doctor called Emotionally Flatlined, meaning she had no emotions. She couldn’t cry, rarely laughed, a little anger, but not much considering what she was going through. Her dad died. Her favorite aunt died. Having to stop the life she was living when she was only fifty-five and there were no tears. She would tell me she wished she could cry. So, I sat down and wrote Meant to Be.

While she was reading it, she started to cry. My dad said his first thought was the book was terrible and was wondering how to tell me. Once she finished the book, my mom phoned me. Understand, it was a hardship for her to phone, she needed the time to think about what to say, so emailing was easier, but she phoned so she could say thank you for letting her have a good cry.
